Hurts suffered a nasty finger injury in Sunday’s game. To make matters worse, the finger was on his throwing hand. Despite that, the Eagles’ head coach expects Hurts to be ready to go for the playoffs, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

“Eagles HC Nick Sirianni on Jalen Hurts’ finger: ‘He’s tough as heck. … He came back and ripped it.’ Regarding his status for next week, Sirianni says ‘We’ll see’ but sounds like he expects him to be ready to go.”

Obviously, Philadelphia will monitor their star quarterback closely. But the ideal situation is that he plays. Justin Herbert suffered a similar injury earlier in the season. He wrapped up his finger and played through it. So, Jalen Hurts can definitely do the same thing for the Eagles.

As for AJ Brown, the star wide receiver may have avoided a serious knee injury. At the end of the contest, Sirianni claims Brown was greeting teammates back to the locker room. His injury status is still not clear, but the Eagles are hopeful he’ll be available in the first round of the postseason.

“Sirianni asked about Eagles WR AJ Brown’s knee, says Brown was the first to greet players coming back into the locker room. My understanding is it’s not believed to be a serious injury.”

Hopefully, Philadelphia can get it back under control. The final stretch of the season was rather ugly for this franchise. But with the playoffs beginning, the Eagles can star new with a clean slate. They’re due to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the playoffs.
