a systematic and dynamic KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Charles Omenihu just wants fans to be able to watch the game.
Knowing that Chiefs Kingdom stretches beyond the greater Kansas City area, he knew that the Peacock-exclusive streaming broadcast of Saturday’s AFC Wild Card between the Chiefs and Miami Dolphins might cause some problems for fans.
“I was (upset about the decision to move it to streaming),” Omenihu said Wednesday. “I just saw it and was like, ‘why make people pay to watch the game?’”
As a result, he offered to pay for 90 three-month subscriptions to the streaming service.
“We got the best fans in the world,” he said. “So I tweeted and got that response.”
Omenihu said Wednesday afternoon nearly half of the 90 three-month subscriptions had been handed out to fans.
“They reached out to my management team, so my management team has talked to them to bring this to life,” Omenihu said.
