Following a 27-17 loss at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, where the Patriots’ current standing at 3-11 raises questions about Belichick’s future in New England, the coach deviated from his customary exit strategy.

After exchanging pleasantries with Chiefs coach Andy Reid, Belichick made a beeline for Kansas City’s star tight end, Kelce, engaging in an extended conversation.

“Appreciate you, coach,” Kelce expressed to Belichick, who, despite uncertainties surrounding his tenure, took a moment to impart some insights to the 34-year-old tight end before they went their separate ways.

Despite Kelce’s relatively modest performance in the game, with just five catches for 28 yards, he voiced profound respect for Belichick.

Acknowledging the daunting challenge of facing a Belichick-coached defense, Kelce highlighted the complexity and strategic depth the Patriots’ coach brings to the game.

“He always has a lot of guys that can play smart, so hats off to Belichick today for making my life tough, that’s for damn sure. On top of that, he’s getting a good group of guys to play well together. I’ve got a lot of respect for that team,” Kelce remarked.

Addressing speculation about Belichick’s potential exit from New England, Kelce hinted at the coach having more to offer.

“I got a feeling that guy has some football left in him,” he confirmed in his post-match press conference.
