The Los Angeles Chargers are set for their season finale today against their division rivals Kansas City Chiefs. However, the Chiefs will be without their top pass catcher, tight end Travis Kelce. According to NFL insider Filed Yates, the Chiefs have downgraded Kelce to out for Week 18.
Kelce was only 16 yards shy of recording his eighth consecutive season with 1,000 yards. That streak will now end at seven. The Chiefs will also be without their superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Their backup quarterback, Blaine Gabbert, will get the start against the Chargers. Once again, this will be the matchup of the backups.
This game doesn’t mean much for either team, as the Chiefs have secured the division and their playoff seeding. As for the Chargers, they are playing for pride at this point and will look to end their 2023 season with a win and, more importantly, have themselves a dream off-season. Kick-off is set at 1:25 PM PT at Sofi Stadium. Let’s finish this season strong!
