The defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will head into the NFL playoffs once again with superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading the way, even though he didn’t have a great season this year.
Mahomes and company may no longer be the dominant force of old, with the Chiefs showing some serious flaws in their game over the course of the regular season, but when they’re in the postseason, Kansas City can kick it into high gear.
The best players in any professional sport are the ones who can elevate their game when the lights are the brightest during the postseason, and that’s exactly what Mahomes has done in the playoffs as the undisputed leader of the Chiefs over the last few years.
Although it’s uncertain how far the defending champions will be able to go in the postseason this time around, there’s no doubt they have the right man under center to give them the best chance of winning it all again, as PFF notes via Twitter with a telling graphic.
The Chiefs are only slightly favored to come out on top this weekend when Mahomes and company play host to the Miami Dolphins at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium because no one really knows what Kansas City may have left in the tank.
One thing is for certain, however, which is that the Chiefs can’t be ruled out in the playoffs as they’ve been arguably the most resilient team in the postseason for the last few years with Mahomes under center and Andy Reid calling the shots on the sideline.
