Patrick Mahomes took a minute to take his Kansas City Chiefs quarterback hat off and put on his part-owner of the Kansas City Royals hat on.
On Friday, Mahomes sent out a post on Twitter/X celebrating a recent flurry of moves from the Royals:
Plus, the Royals have made a few trades in addition to their signings. Needless to say, it’s been a busy and spendy offseason for a Royals front office that’s usually in the bottom 10 in payroll. Fans aren’t used to the team spending heaps of money, so this offseason is worth celebrating for fans and owners alike.
The Royals aren’t the only sports team that Mahomes is involved in owning. In addition to being part-owner of the Royals, Mahomes has joined the ownership groups of Sporting Kansas City (MLS) and the Kansas City Current (NWSL), among other business ventures.
That probably won’t be the end of it, either, as Mahomes has expressed his desire to one day help bring an NBA team to Kansas City. Not only that, but Mahomes even wants to become part owner of an NFL team one day. Maybe after Mahomes’ time is up playing QB, he could join ownership of the Chiefs?
