If you’re looking for a little Christmas spirit, try holding a movie marathon of Jason and Travis Kelce’s top holiday films.
During the newest episode of New Heights, during the “No Dumb Questions” segment, one fan inquired about the pair’s favorite Christmas movies, sparking an intense debate about classic films like Elf, A Christmas Story, and, of course, Die Hard.
They had two tasks ahead of them before all was said and done: to determine if Die Hard is a Christmas film, and to choose their top film of the season.
Once the Die Hard debate was officially put to rest, the two got to work compiling a list—and checking it twice, since, as Travis said, “there’s so many good ones.”
Considering himself “a comedy guy,” the tight end leans away from “not funny Christmas movies.” He mentioned Elf and Four Christmases, which Jason steadfastly agreed with. “I’d probably put Elf above Four Christmases, but I’m such a Vince Vaughn guy that I’ll watch Four Christmases any day of the week,” he said.
Klaus and The Grinch also made the list. “Jim Carrey is just my favorite in everything,” Travis said, though Jason is happy with almost any iteration of the Dr. Seuss tale.
More and more classics came to mind, with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Jingle All the Way—”You can’t go wrong with [Arnold] Schwarzenegger”—and Home Alone making the list, but in the end, the two put A Christmas Story at the top of their list.
Travis explained, “[It] hits home. That’s the one that gives me the feels, because it’s filmed in Cleveland. Tower City, as a kid, I remember going down that slide. I remember just like, going into the mall area. On top of that, the scene of the outside reminds me of a Cleveland Christmassy snowy Christmas. I just get the feels from that one.”
