One person shared the good news after their friends received Scott Swift’s ticket upgrade, explaining what happened in a message exchange with Jacqui Felgate, a host with Melbourne’s 3AW radio station, who subsequently shared the story with her followers on Instagram.
The “good news story” involved the Swiftie’s friend and that friend’s daughter, who had “cheap restricted tickets” to one of the “Anti-Hero” singer’s concerts at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Feb. 16.
After entering the venue, the two fans were approached by Scott, known fondly among fans as “Papa Swift,” who “went around and handed them wrist bands and entry into VIP section.” They estimated that the upgrade was valued at about $2,000. “Seriously lucky and how generous and kind is papa Swift!!” the anonymous storyteller added.
Feb. 16 was Swift’s first of three nights at the MCG. It also marked her first performance in Australia since 2018. The “Cruel Summer” songstress performed in front of an estimated 96,000 people each night-a new record for not only the Eras Tour, but her entire career thus far.
Swift told that night’s audience that she was “completely starstruck by the fact that so many of you wanted to hang out with us on a Friday night in Melbourne.”
Swift played her final scheduled show in Melbourne on Feb. 18. She next heads to Sydney for four nights at Accor Stadium, before heading to Singapore for a string of shows in early March.
