Jason kelce released a new clip ahead of this week’s pre-recorded New Heights podcast episode.
Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce released a special message Monday about last week’s Kansas City Super Bowl parade shooting that left one dead and dozens of bystanders injured, via their New Heights podcast.
“Attention 92 Percenters, we have a pre-recorded episode for you guys coming up on Wednesday, but after the tragic events of the Super Bowl parade in Kansas City, it didn’t feel right without you guys hearing from us first,” Travis said in the clip, addressing fans of the podcast by their adopted group name.
“We just wanted to say our hearts go out to all of the victims, their families, Chiefs Kingdom, and really all of Kansas City that was really there on a day to try and celebrate the community,” Jason continued. “It’s unfortunate, and deeply tragic the events that occurred. So we want to thank the local law enforcement that sprang into action, the first responders on scene, and anybody that’s been willing to help those affected by this tragedy.”
Included with the clip is a link to the KCStrong fundraiser set up by the Chiefs organization and United Way of Greater Kansas City, the proceeds of which will support victims and their families, first responders, and violence prevention and recovery organizations. The fund’s page shows that more than $850K has been donated as of the publication of this article.
Through his Eighty-Seven and Running charity, Travis has also made a sizeable donation to a GoFundMe page set up for two young victims of the shooting, 10-year-old Madison Reyes and 8-year-old Melia Reyes. The sisters are recovering after both were shot in the legs at the parade. Travis’s foundation is shown as donating $100,000 over two separate $50,000 donations to the fund.
